·          What do you think of the video? Do you meditate? Why? Do you feel it works? Why?      I think that the video about the scientific power of meditation is a very useful form of divulgation about how meditation affects our bodies and our brains.      I started doing meditation at the beginning of the year, specifically when I discovered that our university had made an agreement with the App "Calm". At first I had no idea what meditation was, I mean, I had heard about it before, things like: "it's very good" "you feel better" "it's an incredible journey where you begin discover who you are" and that kind of comments. I always though that meditation was a hippie and spiritual thing so I had never take it seriously to be honest.       The reason I started to meditate was because of stress. I’m in a class that teaches us how to deal with the stress that university can cause us sometimes, or per...

Reflexion about Gender Stereotypes in Chile ♀♂👀

Image
I have to be honest, when I heard the video of that woman talking about gender stereotypes in Estonia -her country-, she made me really really jealous, because here in Chile it’s absolutely different… Chile is a male chauvinist country, where types of thoughts like that the role of women is to be housewives, who should be in charge of cooking, cleaning, raising and waiting for her husband to arrive from work to continue working for him.  This type of conception dominates the minds of a big part of Chilean citizens throughout the national territory, and becomes much stronger in rural areas of the country. With the pass of the years the feminist movement has been growing more and more, an amazing and really beautiful process of freedom. We've open spaces and broke a lot of miths about our role in the society as womans. We’ve been fighting on the streets for our rights, demanding justice and equity throughout this large country. We have become a big clan, where we support each oth...

2. WHY DID I CHOOSE THIS CAREER :o

Well, I remember when I was 8 years old I wanted to be an architect, then at 12 I wanted to study astronomy, see the stars and study about astronomical processes was something that never never ceased to amaze me. Then I was like 16 year old and in high school I realize that actually I really really love history, philosofy and reading, of course. So as you can imagine, my head was a complete mess when someone asked me the classic "and what do you want to study in the future?" ugh, come on what's the point of tormenting young people with that question.  And to be honest, it was very frustrating because even I didn't know what the hell to answer. I liked so many things and they were all very different, so deciding for just one was a little complicated. But the only thing of what I was absolutelly sure is that I wanted to study something wich I could help people in the future. Finally I decided to take the humanist area and I don't regret it at all haha. One day, ...

We are not studying the same, she is a scientist and I am a humanist girl. talking about my family, I live with my oldparents, my sister and my mom. My parents are divorsed but that it's n...
